We came across the monkey scampering along the branch as we reached the river. On previous trips we had stopped beneath this tree, had a quick drink and hoped to see crocodiles in the river.

The Gerenuk is a long necked antelope which it uses to reach the upper leaves of the bush. This gives it a unique grazing height, especially as it stretches to the full on its' hind legs. The Swahili name literally translates as the 'Giraffe Antelope'.H
